Magister Partners is an independent, owner-side project firm. We are brought in when something difficult has to be delivered — a plant, a platform, a change of operating model — and the organisation to deliver it does not yet exist. We build that organisation with you, run the project through it, and leave you with operations that work from the first day.
Start a conversationWe work on subjects as different as a chemical plant and an enterprise platform, because the method does not change with the subject.
What changes is the tempo, and the technical depth the subject demands. On one, concrete, permits and long-lead equipment set the pace; on the other, people, scope and the calendar of the business do. The domain expertise is not the same, and we do not pretend otherwise — we go and find it.
What carries across is the rest: rationalise the problem before committing money, put the right competence around it at each stage, and arbitrate the changes before they reach the project.
Strip the problem back to what is actually being decided, what constrains it, and what "done" means. Most projects that fail were badly framed, not badly executed.
Map the competence the project needs, stage by stage, against what the organisation already has. The gaps become visible early, while closing them is still cheap. We build your team — we do not sell you ours.
Every project drifts. The cost is rarely the change itself; it is the change decided three months late. We surface arbitrations while they are still inexpensive and take them to the level that can settle them.
The measure of the work is what happens after we leave. Operations run on day one because the organisation running them was built inside your house during the project, not parachuted in at the end.
Owner's engineer and interim project management for industrial capital projects — chemicals, oil & gas, pulp & paper, energy and heavy industry. From framing and site selection through tendering, construction and commissioning.
See the industrial practiceOwner-side sponsorship of digital programmes and operating-model change — platform selection, governance, multi-country deployment and adoption. On the sponsor's side, never the integrator's.
See the transitions practiceYou work directly with the person doing the work — no layers, no hand-offs, no diluted accountability.
We represent the owner only. No brokerage, no contractor interest, no vendor commission, no integrator affiliation. Our judgement is yours alone.
We do not place headcount. We identify the competence a problem requires, source it from your own organisation or from the market, and put it where it changes the outcome. What we supply is judgement.
Before committing to a project, know whether you can staff it. We map the competence each stage will require, mark the gaps, and establish whether they can be closed locally or have to be brought in. Where there is no existing network, we source the market and come back with a verdict. Often how a mandate begins.
Stepping in to run a project — or a project office — directly, on the ground, for a defined mission.
Independent technical and commercial oversight on the owner's behalf, alongside your teams, contractors and vendors.
Framing, feasibility, site search, make-or-buy and go/no-go decisions — the early work that de-risks the capital.
Magister Partners is founded by Jérémy Moulin, a senior portfolio and project manager with over fifteen years delivering capital projects and operational transitions — greenfield chemical plants, oil & gas facilities, group-wide platform rollouts and operating-model change — across four continents and 57 countries.
The firm is deliberately small and senior. We take on a limited number of mandates and give each one a principal's full attention, from the first blank page to the handover.
Client names are held in confidence. Mandates are described by sector, region and scope; platforms and locations are named where doing so breaches nothing. References available on request, at the appropriate stage.
